Panama (Spanish: Panamá), officially known as the Republic of Panama (Spanish: República de Panamá) is a country in Central America. During the Call of Duty: Black Ops II 1980s campaign, the country is subject to the U.S. Invasion of Panama, also known as Operation Just Cause.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Panama is featured in the 1980s. The PDF, Panama's armed forces, helped the CIA capture Raul Menendez in his mansion at Nicaragua. The Panamanian forces succeded, though, Manuel Noriega betrayed the PDF, and let Menendez get away. Three years later, on December 19, Alex Mason and Frank Woods arrive at Mark McKnight's home in Fort Clayton for a briefing on Noriega's capture, and later on December 20, deploy in the outskirts of Panama City and start the search for Noriega. Alex and Frank move to the Paitilla Airfield, where they see Noriega's plane, though Noriega was in a hotel not far from the airfield. The team arrives at the hotel and capture Noriega, and later are informed by Hudson that he is an HVI and must be taken to a US Army checkpoint for a prisoner exchange. The exchange was going to take place at the Miraflores Locks, Panama Canal. The prisoner is brought out with his head bagged and restrained by Panamanian soldiers. Woods is told to shoot, he obeys and then goes to the prisoner's body, only to reveal that he actually shot Alex Mason, either killing or injuring him.

Call of Duty: Ghosts

The Federation and its territories.

Panama isn't directly mentioned in Call of Duty: Ghosts. However, it is shown as part of the Federation's empire, as it is within the occupied territories. Being the only nation right above Colombia, the Federation's northernmost member, it is very likely that Panama was the first country outside of South America to be conquered, eventually followed by the rest of Central America, the Caribbean, and ultimately Mexico.
