Map Pack 3 is a downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: World at War that was released on August 6. It was released on PC for free on September 18. Like the previous two map packs, it contains three Multiplayer maps and one Zombies map. The map pack also includes ten achievements/trophies.
On July 26, 2009, Treyarch released an "urgent title update" due to the fact that people were hacking Nazi Zombies and the Nazi Zombies leaderboards. This update showed the maps from Map Pack 3 in selection places such as split-screen and private matches. Weapons were also reskinned to give them a more gritty appearance, such as the PTRS-41 having more scratches and markings on it, the FG42's magazine having metallic stains, and some weapons gaining rust. Also, an anti-hacking device was installed and all hackers were suspended from Xbox Live/PSN.
